Welcome to Stamford Badminton Club

Our long established badminton club welcomes players of all abilities and we are always looking for new members of all ages.

Our main season runs from September to April with club nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We also run a summer season from April to July.

The Tuesday club nights start at 19:30 to 21:30 where our qualified coaches run sessions for juniors while beginners, families and social players enjoy badminton in a fun and easy going atmosphere.

The Thursday club nights are
for senior members and experienced juniors who are looking for a more challenging game
between 19:00 and 21:30.  Plastic and feather shuttles are available.

We play on four courts and mix everyone up using a peg-board system so that all players get variety of games.

We invite experienced players to join our mixed and men's teams who compete in the Rutland and Stamford League and the Huntingdon and Peterborough League.  Have a look at the league tables to see how we're doing
this season.

Our fees are:

Main Season (September - April):
£4 per night (£2 juniors) or
£55 per one night season (£27.50 juniors)
or
£110 per two night season

Summer Season (April - July):
£4 per night (£2 juniors) or
£20 per season (£10 juniors)

We provide nets and shuttles, just bring your own racket! (although we usually have a couple of spares).

Please contact us
to ensure that we can accommodate you as we occasionally get over subscribed but we maintain a waiting list that ensures that you will get to join us.

If we have confirmed that we can accommodate you then it would be greatly appreciated if you would complete our membership form and familiarise yourself with the club's rules, codes of conduct and policy documents in the resources section.

Stamford Badminton Club aspires to:

-    Welcome everyone
Gathering a wide variety of people together with rackets and shuttles on badminton courts naturally produces energy and enjoyment.  That, on its own, is a good enough reason to run a club

-    Link with the local community
It's important for us to be involved in local sporting initiatives and to be easily accessible to people in and around Stamford that want to exercise, socialise and compete

-    Provide club nights in a relaxed atmosphere
Our easy going approach to club nights is one of the main reasons why players choose our club to show up to each week and why our membership continues to grow

-    Attract and maintain competitive players
We have competed against other clubs for as long as anyone can remember and remain committed to supporting the local leagues.  Experienced players like to challenge themselves and some improving players enjoy having a target to aim for

-    Develop players through coaching and competition

Many badminton players want to improve and so we will continue to provide access to qualified and experienced coaches.  Improvement can also come from playing with and against more experienced players in competitive environments

-    Offer juniors fun and development in a safe environment

Our juniors are core to the club.  Their energy, enthusiasm and natural desire to be better badminton players contribute a large part to the lively atmosphere.  We understand that young people need a place to discover badminton and that it is our responsibility to protect and inspire them whilst they are in our care.  It is our privilege to do our part in securing the future of such an excellent sport
